Moving anywhere is often a stressful time for anyone, but for those who are moving across the world, to a place such as Australia, the stress can be overwhelming. Some of the very first things one muse do upon migrating to Australia are:
Apply for a Driver’s License
Enroll Children into School
Register for English Classes (if it is not native)
Open a Bank Account
Register with Medicare
Apply for a Tax File Number (TFN)
Register with Centrelink
Once migrated, most of these forms can be filled out at the local government office. Other necessities when finished work in Australia are: setting up utility services such as electricity, water, heat, and gas, obtaining a work visa (if one has not already done so), and setting up other services such as mailing address, any PO boxes, waste collection, recycling.
There are also many community programs that new residents of Australia can enroll in upon migrating. These classes provide new residents with information that native Australians learn while in grade school, or inherently when they are young. Some programs offered include classes that introduce slang terms, currency exchange, Australian history and Australian government.
